BC Hydro Rebate

No income qualification • Up to $4,000

Who qualifies

  • Replacing electric baseboard heaters
  • Replacing an electric furnace
  • Replacing an existing heat pump
  • BC Hydro customer

What you get

$4,000

Flat rebate for qualifying installations

No income verification required. Must use a BC Hydro registered contractor (we are!).

FortisBC Dual-Fuel Rebate

No income qualification • $5,000

Keep your gas furnace as backup and add a heat pump for primary heating and cooling. This "dual-fuel" or "hybrid" setup gives you the best of both worlds — and qualifies for a $5,000 rebate from FortisBC.

Best for

  • Larger homes (2,500+ sq ft)
  • Homeowners wanting backup for coldest days
  • Homes with existing gas furnace in good condition
  • Those who want air conditioning too

How it works

The heat pump handles most of your heating (down to about -15°C) and all your cooling. On the coldest days, your gas furnace kicks in automatically.

You get efficiency of a heat pump, reliability of gas backup, and whole-home air conditioning — often for similar cost to heat pump only.

Oil-to-Heat Pump Affordability Program

Income-qualified • Up to $10,000+

If you're currently heating with oil and meet income requirements, you may qualify for the biggest rebates available — combining federal and provincial funding.

Switching from oil? You likely qualify for the biggest rebates.
